Attempting the climb by the Marangu route is the fastest way to the peak and also the most popular. This route approaches Kilimanjaro from the southeast, crossing the slopes via a variety of attractive landscapes including moorland and forest, before changing to alpine and arctic. At the lower altitudes, there are good chances to witness a wonderful variety of mammals, birds, insects and plant life, including towering eucalyptus trees and Colobus monkeys.
Bush 2 City Adventure trekkers are accommodated in comfortable huts throughout this once in a lifetime adventure. Technically, this route allows completion within five days, but as responsible operators, we provide an extra day to facilitate acclimatization. This will maximize the chances of successfully ‘summiting’ this truly iconic mountain.
