The objective of the Authority is to regulate the private security industry and to exercise effective control over the practice of the occupation of security service provider in the public and national interest and in the interest of the private security.

To protect the constitutional rights of all people to life, safety and dignity through the effective promotion and regulation of the private security industry.

The primary objectives of the Authority are to regulate the private security industry and to exercise effective control over the practice of the occupation of a security service provider in the public and national interest and in

The Authority regulates and controls the Private Security Industry through:
Registration of service providers
Registration of security officers
Ensuring compliance and adherence to PSIRA Act and all other laws applicable to security service providers
Accredit training security service provider
Process course report submitted to us
Receive and investigate complaints against service providers
Prosecute non-compliance by service providers
Advise private security consumers about private security industry
Advise state on all matters of private security
GOVERNANCE
The authority is governed and controlled by the council which is appointed by the Minister of Police in consultation with cabinet. The council consists of a chairperson, a vice chairperson and three additional councillors.
LEGISLATIVE MANDATE
The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) was established in terms of Section 2 of the Private Security Regulation Act (56 of 2001) in 2002. The operational activities and mandate of the Authority originate from the Act and regulations issued in terms of the Act. As contemplated by the Act, the Authority shall:
Promote a legitimate private security industry which acts in terms of the principles contained in the Constitution and other applicable laws
Promote a private security industry which is characterised by professionalism, transparency, accountability, equity and accessibility
Conduct an on-going study and investigation of the rendering of security services and practices of security service providers
Institute legal proceedings against transgressors of the security standards
Receive and consider applications for registration and renewal of registration as security service provider
Suspend or withdraw the registration status of a security service provider
Develop and maintain standards and regulate practices in connection with the occupation of security service providers and persons in the employ of the Industry
Take steps to protect and assist security officers and other employees against exploitation or abuse
Promote high standards in the training of security service providers and prospective security service providers
Develop and maintain a computerised database to store information concerning the Industry
Provide information promoting and encouraging compliance with the security standards and the Code of Conduct for Security Service Providers
Determine, charge and collect fees for services rendered by the Authority.

I have a problem i was employed by hlahulane security Academy globlersdal he is selling certificates no training I am an instructor grade c ******** he is paying inspectors I have a report from the inspector how came he is robbing people I wanted to call speak out to help me so that others won't be robbed no UIF he stole from me
