Job Requirements

• Physically fit
• Ability to work in adverse conditions
• Capable to travel around South Africa if needed
• Experience with health and safety, first aid and a wiremans certificate or animatronics.
• Previous experience in mechanical/ electrical fields eg Electrical, Generators, and Landfill
• Computer Literate

Operations and Maintenance
The planning (including the use of company issue work planners), organization and arrangement of your time and staff within your area to ensure the following requirements are satisfied.

• Day-to-day operations of the operation sites
• Development and man-management of the operational team, with the intention of increasing the level of direct responsibility (where this is cost effective) for all aspects of the operation, from recovering landfill gas through to electrical and mechanical maintenance of the generators and ancillary equipment
• Reducing dependency on contractors, where it is economically prudent to do so
• Supervision of operating contracts, where retention is economically prudent
• Development and implementation of H&S and quality systems
• Responsible for the policing of Compliance and implementation of company environmental protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing.
• Commitment to training to enhance knowledge and skills with regard to Environmental protection and emergency preparedness skills.
• Attend Management review meetings
• P&L reporting and operations budget control
• Control of operating costs
• Control of Overhead costs
• Liaison with other departments to support commissioning and project development
• Any reasonable task required by the management in the exercising of its goals

Project Involvement:

• Assistance with the installation, commissioning of generator sets/facilities and acceptance of units at hand-over to Operations.
• Contractor Supervision

Salary
25 000 to 30 000 CTC
