TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
We are very sorry that we spent our hard earned money at Ocean Basket, George, Western Cape last night...(for our family treat) The food was shocking... The prawns and kingklip like rubber... the sushi tasted "fishy" the waiter accidently spilt my drink on me and NEVER offered me another one. Only once my husband asked where is my new drink, did he say "oh" but I then said just leave it, (still charged) While the Manageress (Asanda) was very polite and did send me new prawns, they came back just the same.... we got a 50% discount on the platter for 2, we probably ate 10% of it.... very very disappointed and will never eat there again!!!!

Most disgusting food ever. From starters to main. Had to send food back three times. Kiddies meal fish nuggets undercooked. Send it back. Came back the same way. Been eating at Ocean baskets all over Pretoria. Irene village mall the worst. Serves sub-standard meals. Two tables in our surroundings also send food back

My wife and I went to Ocean Basket, Queens corner, Pretoria, yesterday.
The servise was absolutely outstanding.
The quality of the food even better.

Please close the OB in Hartswater. We drive all the way from Hertzogville to Hartswater to eat at the OB. We wait a long time for the suschi that we ordered. We order a soup and two platters for two. And we ordered drinks. After a hour they bring the soup without a spoon. We asked twice for a spoon but didnt get one. They bring one platter and then ask if we ordered two.....the lady write the order down but now she ask if we ordered two. It is a joke!!!!!We arrived at half past twelve and at three o clock we still didnt get our drinks or platter. PLEASE close that OB because it is giving you a bad name. Thank you

My family and went for lunch at the Mossel Bay Ocean Basket ( now moved to new premises). Terrible - stale white bread, calamari oily and cooked in old oil and chips, frozen, dry. Disgusting

As residents of Blue Hills, we chose to celebrate our 36th Wedding anniversary at the Blue Hills branch to avoid travelling. We arrived, in evening dress, at 8.45pm to find only one table, outside, was occupied by a couple. We were told by a young woman at the door that it was 'Takeaways only'. Having frequented Ocean Baskets over a number of years we know the kitchen closing time to be 9pm. Despite protestations that there was still 15 minutes before closing time she continued to refuse service. When I asked to speak to Management she reluctantly strolled towards the rear of the restaurant, at which point we decided to leave and get to San Ridge before they closed. The atmosphere at Blue Hills Ocean Basket is not warm and welcoming and we will not return there again. Please see separate review for San Ridge.

My cravings yesterday led me to clear water mall ocean basket to enjoy my dinner but to found out that it was the worst nightmare dinner ever. We ordered a platter for 2 to enjoy everything however, food was not fresh at all, chips were hard, sauce was very oily, some mussels were empty inside and cracked, calamari heads were very hard to chew, waitress was not organised we had to ask her for everything including salt and serving spoon. We only ate half of the platter.
To me I feel like I was undermined I'm not happy at all I don't think I will ever go back to that ocean basket

Worst evening out ever! Came to Monte Casino for dinner with friends and had the worst service. We were served by a trainee without being told or asked if it was okay. We had to repeat the instructions on everything 3 times and he still got it wrong.
We eventually wrote our own orders down for him.
Once we finished our meal, we were told that the credit card machines are out of order.
When we complained to the manager on duty, she didn't even apologize for the terrible service.

I definitely will never eat there again

I visited Ocean Basket Capetown and the service is horrible The manager Johan is so dismissive about the complaint like they doing the customer a favor.we pay for our meals and expect a good service.

WE ATTENDED THE WESTLAKE MALL BRANCH IN CAPE TOWN AND AFTER LEAVING AFTER OUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MEAL AT 17H07 TODAY WE BOTH HAD TO RUN TO THE HOME TOILET DUE TO STOMACH PROBLEMS, WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF LEAVING THE PREMISES.
REFER INV: ********-2 FOR R317.00.
WE WILL NEVER EVER FREQUENT ANY OCEAN BASKET AGAIN AND I WILL BE INFORMING ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY ABOUT THE BAD EXPERIENCE.
IN ADDITION, YOUR STAFF IS STILL PROMOTING ANGLE FISH ON THE PLATTER INSTEAD OF THE DESIRED HAKE THAT IS REQUIRED.
