I bought a Hoover Rapid carpet washer in September 2019. After 3 times used the carpet washer didn't work. The water was pouring out as soon as i switched it on. The washer was send away for repairs by Builders Warehouse. I had to wait 7 weeks for my washer to be repaired. When i received my washer back the handle was damaged and the back of the washer was not even fitted together properly.This is a bad product for nearly R4000.00 and the service even worse.I will not buy a Hoover product again.

This is a COMPLAINT, not a review.
I have been struggling for MONTHS now to get a new battery for my Wet and Dry handheld vacuum HSV 40.
NO LUCK.
I am VERY disappointed with Hoover's service, as well as Home of Living Brands.
VERY UPSET.
NO RESPONSE.
NO REPLY.

Morning. I bought the hoover wet and dry vacuum cleaner on 2 may. In the 2nd week the nozzle came loose and we had to try and hold/screw the 2 parts together to vacuum. Went to Strubensvalley Makro. At first she said I had 2 weeks to bring it back. Why didn't I... It did come loose but my husband screwed it back in and I vacuumed 'carefully'. Then decided nonsense as we paid almost R 1000 for it. It needs to work properly. Went to makro and they called the hoover sails person who said it was a factory defect they need to give me a new pipe/nozzle.
Went home and the same happened.
Went back the next week. They called someone from hoover in Denver. He asked me to bring it in 'quickly ' because he thinks it's not clipped in properly.
He told them over the phone how to do it. After struggling for a while he told them to give me the demo nozzle and pipe. Really thought it'll last now as it was used by them? Next vacuum session...same problem. What now?? 4 pipes/ nozzles same problem?
I can't pay R899 for a thing that didn't work properly for 1 week and needs to last a long time? My previous general electric cheapie lasted 10 years.
Please help Hoover?!

I have the exact same problem. Bought a Hoover upright out os pure frustration, now that doesn't work properly either.

I bought the Hoover wet and dry vacuum cleaner about 18 months ago. I am the only person using this vacuum. - The clips that fasten the lid/motor onto the collection bucket are all plastic and the hinge is so flimsy it keeps snapping off on either sides of the clip and has now totally broken off. I tried to buy spare parts and visited LDS in Lynwood road Pretoria. I was then referred to Samsung at Windsor Street, Garsfontein also in Pretoria. Here I was also informed that they are not able to buy any spare parts for Hoover products. I then phoned your Head office (011- 787 0344) in Sandton but as was expected I got no answer. Hoover is an old established product and is sold by its historical name. Sorry Hoover no more will I ever again think of the name Hoover with good memories. Everybody out there should be made aware of this.
If your sales or marketing staff, or head office are in any way serious about your product and service I expect to receive a call from your office within a day or two. Should this not happen I know that Hoover is not a product that I can buy and or recommend to anyone else.

I made my own out of metal that will outlast me, however the motor has now burnt out and can't find anyone that can offer a replacement.

My hoover foot is seriously damaging my hardwood floors. It has a lever to "drop" brushes down but even those scratch my teak floors. I phoned 011 490 9600 and I am told that there is no specific foot for hardwood floors and found the person I spoke to uninformed and not helpful at all.

I bought a Hoover wet and dry vacuum cleaner about 4 years ago. What a piece of trash. The pipes don't connect tight enough and every time you try to vacuum with the trash, the pipes keep disconnecting from each other. And now.... after spending about R900 some time ago on this trash, I have to buy another vacuum cleaner... and what do the sales people at different stores tell me now? Hoover is trash. Sies Hoover. Previous years you had some of the best products on the market, what happened. Phoning your head office doesn't help... the person answering the phone is as trash as your vacuum cleaner.

I have the newer Hoover 1800w and its has one major design floor. The clips that fasten the lid/motor onto the collection bucket are all plastic and the hinge is so flimsy it keeps snapping off on either sides of the clip. Making is useless! The more older models that used to have the water tank for wet cleaning like carpets, was far better in design and strength. My old one I still have and lasted me 27 years! Just it now needs a new motor as it finally gave up. I would rather repair that old one than keep the new one. My new one's clips have broken twice in four months. When something works well by design why change it just to save a buck and cut costs and pass on the cost of repair to the consumer. I don't see the point of making it cheaper to manufacture and passing it for quality when clearly its NOT!

Yes I have the same thing happen to my hoover, now 1 hear old. Clips are broken off and I am the only user, and always careful when I clean the canister as I realised how flimsy these plastic clips are. What to do now? I am a pensioner. Can't just go and buy another one!!!

I bought a Hoover vacuum cleaner with card ******** late in 2014. Attached is the card no and serial no of the vacuum cleaner. I would like to state that I am the only person that operate the cleaner. Around April 2015 the one filter at the back of the vacuum cleaner started falling out. I took it back to Makro Polokwane. After about three months I was informed that nothing could be found wrong with the machine. I yet again explained the problem to the person at the Returns counter. After I demanded that a new filter be attached, I took my vacuum cleaner home.

Not three month later the machine did not want so start when switched on. Back to the Returns I went. I told the person behind the counter that I want my money back, seeing that the machine in more in for repairs than it worked. The Returns Supervisor, Timothy, promised me that he will discuss the situation with the Head Office and arrange a voucher for the price of the vacuum cleaner. He never phoned me as promised. I was notified after 6 weeks that I can collect my machine. By that time I was sick and tired of the machine and un-kept promises of the staff at Makro Polokwane.

As it is nearly a year later, my vacuum cleaner is still not functioning properly. The filter at the back of the machine is yet again falling out when I vacuum. I am very disappointed with the poor service and un-kept promises I have received from Makro
